The Bonner family can trace its soap-making roots to 1858 in Germany, but it wasn't until 1929 that Emmanuel Bonner came to the United States. The formula of the castile soap finds it origins in the 12th century Castile region of Spain, where the olive oil-based soap first began to be produced. This traditional soap has been adapted to modern needs with the addition of rich, moisturizing coconut oil and the protecting benefits of hemp oil (processed to be free of its psychoactive compounds).
